Jakarta – The president-elect for the 2024-2029 term, Prabowo Subianto, met with the Chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, who visited his residence on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta, on Thursday (April 25).
During the meeting, Surya Paloh expressed his agreement to support the newly elected government of Prabowo and Gibran.
“We have all come to the conclusion with spirit, enthusiasm, sincerity, and a great soul, NasDem today declares and reaffirms its support for the new government under the leadership of Prabowo-Gibran,” said Surya Paloh.
Surya Paloh continued, expressing hope for the path of government administration moving forward with the support provided by various components of all political party institutions, hoping that, God willing, they will be able to contribute something far greater for the future of Indonesia, and offering full support to the Prabowo-Gibran administration.
In response, Prabowo expressed his gratitude for the visit, noting that the meeting was effective and productive for the utmost benefit of the Indonesian people.
“The greatest strength that can unite for the people amid global dynamics is highly anticipated. Thank you, Mr. Surya, thank you, NasDem, we are very pleased that you are with us,” said Prabowo.
He also recalled Surya Paloh as his friend and one of the first political party leaders to congratulate him when he took the lead in the General Election Commission’s vote count.
“I deeply appreciate Mr. Surya being one of the very first to congratulate me on receiving the mandate from the people for pair number 02,” he said.
